Hotel Georgia's Bel Cafe

Macaron has become one of Vancouver's latest craze. More and more shops are selling different types of macarons. I was going for a stroll one afternoon and passed by Hotel Georgia's Bel Cafe. They are known for their coffees, sandwiches and macarons. I stopped by and got two macarons - dark chocolate and cookies and cream. The staff said cookies and cream is one of their best sellers.

Of all the macarons I've had, these were by far my favorite! The cookies were just the right texture. They were chewy and not too sweet. Delicious!!! :)

Dragon Ball Bubble Tea

Dragon Ball used to be my favorite bubble tea place. They load up their fresh fruit drinks with lots of fruits. It was so good that we would drive all the way to Vancouver just for a drink.

Yesterday, since we were in the neighborhood we decided to give ourselves a treat. However, this time it was very disappointing. I had my usual fresh taro with half sweet but it didnt taste the same. It was sooo watery and bland :( J had the taro milk tea which I find too sweet and not cold enough. My brother said it's because they changed owners so the drinks aren't what they used to be. I am never going back again :(

Yavis Club Cheesecake

Yavis Club is a cheesecake cafe in Richmond that serves different types of cakes, teas and lattes. Yavis stands for Young, Attractive, Verbal, Intelligent and Successful.

They had a minimum charge for each person so we all had to order something even though we wanted to share.
Green Tea Parfait : a must try!

Chocolate Paradise Cheesecake: A very moist and light mousse type cheesecake.

Rainbow After the Dark Cheesecake: It's frozen and hard like ice cream in a cheesecake form.

Garden of Paradise Flower/Hebral Tea:  A perfect complement to their cakes.

Faubourg: a French cafe

J and I were killing time before our dinner reservation so he suggested we go to Faubourg (pronounced as "foboor") and try their famous French baked goods, pastries, coffee and more.

This cafe is located in the Kerrisdale area.  When we got there the place was packed and there wasn't a place to sit. Luckily, by the time they finished preparing our order some tables became available.  We got to sit by the window facing outside so we can people watch while enjoying our coffee and dessert.

I had an almond croissant because I wanted to compare it with Thierry's. I was only going to eat half and save the rest for later so I have room for dinner but it was so good I ended up finishing it all :) It was crispy and not too sweet just how i like it. Very delicious! :)

We bumped into some friends who ordered the pear tart and chocolate eclair.  They enjoyed both very much aswell.

The ice mocha has a bittersweet taste which compliments the bread and some of the other pastries they serve.
