Hotel Georgia's Bel Cafe

Macaron has become one of Vancouver's latest craze. More and more shops are selling different types of macarons. I was going for a stroll one afternoon and passed by Hotel Georgia's Bel Cafe. They are known for their coffees, sandwiches and macarons. I stopped by and got two macarons - dark chocolate and cookies and cream. The staff said cookies and cream is one of their best sellers.

Of all the macarons I've had, these were by far my favorite! The cookies were just the right texture. They were chewy and not too sweet. Delicious!!! :)

Dragon Ball Bubble Tea

Dragon Ball used to be my favorite bubble tea place. They load up their fresh fruit drinks with lots of fruits. It was so good that we would drive all the way to Vancouver just for a drink.

Yesterday, since we were in the neighborhood we decided to give ourselves a treat. However, this time it was very disappointing. I had my usual fresh taro with half sweet but it didnt taste the same. It was sooo watery and bland :( J had the taro milk tea which I find too sweet and not cold enough. My brother said it's because they changed owners so the drinks aren't what they used to be. I am never going back again :(

Memphis Blues Barbeque House

Memphis Blues is perfect for meat lovers like J. They have big portions and a lot of meat options to choose from. Being more of a seafood and chicken type of person, I chose the roasted chicken while J had the combo platter with beef brisket and smoked sausages. Each order came with seasoned fries, beans, slaw and corn bread.  They also provide each table with condiments to season the meat to your liking. :)

Pulled pork nachos: It was average. I would have liked it with more melted cheese.

Chicken platter: I enjoyed the seasoning of the fries - very tasty. But it wasn't crispy enough.  The chicken was a bit on the dry side so I had to season it with their condiments.

Combo platter: J really enjoyed his meaty dish. His beef brisket was tender with just the right amount of seasoning. He also liked the burnt smoky flavour of the meat. He was very satisfied with the generous portion of his platter and will definitely be back with his boys next time.
